Internet access availability in Macedonia

Currently there are three ways of gaining Internet access in Macedonia. One can access the Internet through an educational institution, an Internet cafe or through a commercial Internet provider.

Access at Universities

In order to obtain an account at educational institutions you have to be a full time student, faculty or staff at the institution. Currently accounts can be accessed only through the terminals at the Universities since the dialups are available only to MARNet (Macedonian Academic and Research Net) employees.

Internet Cafes

There are numerous Internet cafes throughout Macedonia. Here are three of them that have a web site:

Commercial Access

There are several commercial providers in Macedonia whose prices and services differ significantly. In most cases prices are denominated in Macedonian denars. 1. Macedonia On-Line (MOL)

Macedonia on-line offers full set of Internet Service products from dial-up modem and ISDN connections to leased line and web hosting services. More information about their offering can be found at

2. Macedonian Telecommunications

Macedonian Telekom is the main provider with fast terrestial and satellite links providing access to most other Internet service providers. Pricing of their services can be found at

3. Porta Internet service

This service is provided by the Internet arm of Macedonian Post. They provide full range of services with particularly competetive dial-up ISDN service. Pricing for their services can be found at

4. MKInter

The company offers a wide range of connections to the Internet, including Dial-Up and leased lines in a range of 33.6 to 128 Kbps. More information can be found at
