One year after the
Referendum for independence of the Republic od Macedonia, the Macedonian
Postal Service issued its first regular
stamp, a detail from the
cultural heritage of Macedonia - a detail of the beautifully hand -
woodcarved iconostasis of the Monastery of St. John
Bigorski (Sveti Jovan Bigorski).
A Stamp Honoring the
Macedonian Playwright Vojdan
Chernodrinski (1875-1951) in whose Honor the Vojdan Chernodrinski Days
of Drama take place in the city of Prilep, Macedonia every year.
Honoring 50 Years of the United Nations. Macedonia is the
first country where the United Nations Peace Forces are in a preventive
mission to save the peace. For that reason Macedonia has a special
relationship with the United Nations.

A stamp honoring the
Macedonian writer Georgi Puleski (1818 -
1895), one of the first Macedonian writers of the 19th century,
characteristic for the modern Rennaissance of the Macedonian Language and
Nationhood. Unlike before, puleski was among the first ones using the
Macedonian Language to write his works, not the church-Slavic language.
100 Years of the first
film by Auguste and Louis Lumiere and the Brothers Manaki of Bitola, Macedonia, who
filmed for first time on the Balkans. Their first pictures were of the city
of Bitola, Macedonia, then a famous city of Consulates of the Western
forces. For that reason, the city developed at a fast pace, being a equal
part of modern Europe.
A stamp in honor of the
11th of October, the Macedonian National
Holiday. On 11th of October, 1941 the Macedonian People rose against the
Nazi ocupation in Macedonia. This liberation uprising evolved later in the
Macedonian State of 1944.
A stamp honoring the
membership of the Republic of Macedonia in the OSCE and the CE, the first steps toward a full
integration ofthe Republic of Macedonia in modern Europe. The stamp
symbolyzes zipping up of the gap between Western Europe and Macedonia.

Bearded Eagle (Gypaetus Barbatus), both characteristic for the western part

Both Stamps are in Honor
of 50 Years of the University Library of the
University of Sts. Cyrilus and Methodius at Skopje, Macedonia. The Stamps
depict two of the many old Church Slavonic Scripts of the famous Ohrid
Archiepiscopy.

Macedonia, the Star of Kutlesh (Vergina), later changed.
100 Years of the Discovery of the X-Rays by Wilchelm
Rentgen
Honoring the 50 Years of the Red Cross Humanitarian
Organization of the Republic of Macedonia, which helped the Macedonian
State in the most difficult situations such as the Earthquake of Skopje,
1963 which destroyed the capital of Macedonia completely. Skopje was
rebuilt by the world help (for that reason Skopje is called the City of
Solidarity), and the Red Cross Organization of the Republic of Macedonia
helped in this.
Honoring the Macedonia
National Holiday Ilinden (St. Ilijah's
Day), the day of double significance for the Macedonian Nation: Ilinden
1903 was the Uprising against the Ottoman Empire and Ilinden of 1944, The
day of the proclamation of the Macedonian post-WWII state.
Honoring the Admission of the Republic of Macedonia in the
United Nations as an independent state.
